for a start, I'm suspicious if this works on OSX (due ( /meīoots the imac out of debian and into osx). look, to be honest here, I wouldn't bother usingĪ win32 app for this - the task involved is simplisticĪnd although I don't use the iMac for this (the opticalĭrives in iMacs are too slow), but if I had to I'd be (I must say, the installation of CrossOver was much easier and, had it worked, would have been worth paying for.) I then tried using CrossOver and had essentially the same results. I tried this with a new drive mapping and also by modifying the drive mapping that was generated when I inserted a disc (so that it pointed to the device /dev/rdisk1 ). If I changed the type to CD-ROM, it CD Ripper would show that drive letter but it kept asking for a disc to be inserted and did not show the inserted disc. I tried using winecfg to setup the drive links. They all gave the same error message, "No CD Drive Found", and the ASPI option caused the program to hang for a long time when it was first opened.

I tried setting the CD ROM Communication setting in dBpoweramp CD Ripper to all of the options: SCSI Pass Through (SPT), Windows Internal, ASPI, and SCSI Pass Through Read (D8). When I inserted a disk, the following additional link appeared: I could see the CD drive and its contents using the Wine Explorer, and navigating to ~/.wine/dosdevices/ showed the following link: That all seemed fine, and the CD Ripper program opened fine, but it would not recognize the CD drive. I installed Wine using MacPorts and then installed the dBpoweramp software. I initially tried using dBpoweramp CD Ripper with the open source version of Wine. Hardware: MacBookPro with Intel i7 processor and internal CD/DVD driveĬrossOver: version 10.2.0 (trial version) Any suggestions out there? Details of my setup, problem, and attempted fixes are below: This setup seems very close to working, but I can't figure it out.

Some people claim success, but it is unclear if they are running Linux or Mac OS X, and solutions are vague or non-existent. I've checked forums on CodeWeavers and dBpoweramp sites as well as general searches. I am trying to use dBpoweramp CD Ripper, and it will not recognize the CD Drive.
